Chief Kevin Kolbye Exonerated
Updated On: Aug 08, 2020

Recently another APD Labor Group, AMPA, have been posting and sending out some false and slanderous information stemming from a 2016 IA Complaint against one of their former Board Members.  Their "story" is that APD Assistant Chief Kevin Kolbye received preferential treatment when a complaint filed against him was never investigated. This is a flat out LIE!  APA was quickly able to find documents, which are attached, EXONERATING Chief Kevin Kolbye.  One is from Arlington City Manager Trey Yelverton, one is from Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson, and a third is an order from Tarrant County Precinct 2 Judge Mary Curnutt dismissing the small claims lawsuit against Chief Kolbye (yes their former board member sued Kolbye)  As if it wasn't enough to spread this false information throughout the department, AMPA has also posted on their website an affidavit it from the defense team of a Convicted Murderer requesting a retrial due to Kolbye not being included on The Brady List.  They claim they arent siding with this murderer, but yet they post the propoganda.

APA asks 2 questions:

1.  The AMPA Board want Kolbye on the Brady list for what?  HE WAS EXONERATED!  Just because you do not  agree with the final disposition does not mean you get to pretend the investigation did not occur.

2.  Do AMPA members agree what their board is doing?  How many times will they allow their board to stir up non existing controversy?
